Vor kurzem ist das Buch “Bali – Hinter der Fassade” im Mackinger Verlag erschienen. Was dieses Buch für mich persönlich so besonders macht, ist die Tatsache, dass es die Koproduktion vieler Studienfreunde darstellt, mit denen ich gemeinsam 2012 ein Feldpraktikum in Bali absolvieren durfte. Das Ganze geschah damals unter der Leitung von Univ-Prof. Hermann Mückler sowie Thomas Moog, wobei Letzterer sich nun auch für die Herausgeberschaft kenntlich zeigte. Mein Dank für dieses Buch geht aber nicht nur an ihn sonder auch meine ehem. Studienkollegin und treue Freundin Hannah, die sich für das Lektorat kenntlich zeigte.
In meinem Beitrag zum Buch beschäftige ich mich mit dem balinesischen Gamelan, einer indigenen Orchesterform der Insel, die in ähnlicher Form auch in anderen Teilen Indonesiens zu finden ist.
Recently, the book “Bali – Behind the facade” appeared at the Mackinger-Verlag. What makes this book so special for me personally, is the fact that it represents the co-production with many college-friends of mine, with whom I shared the experience of conducting fieldwork in Bali, 2012. The research-trip back then was initiated and lead by Univ.-Prof. Hermann Mückler and Thomas Moog, the latter further also became the chief editor for this volume. My thanks for this book not only go to him, but also my former classmate and loyal friend Hannah, who also spent much of her time engaging within this project. My respective article within this book is concerned with the Balinese Gamelan, an indigenous orchestra that is still being produced as well as practiced on the island. Similar types of this orchestra and its instruments can also be found in other parts of Indonesia.
